    Deutscher Zukunftspreis

    German Future Prize

The German Future Prize, the award of the German Federal President for Technology and Innovation, has been awarded annually since 1997 and is one of the most prestigious science awards in Germany. It honours outstanding technical, engineering and scientific achievements that lead to application-ready products and is endowed with 250,000 euros. A conceptual component of the prize is the linking of science and industry, which is also reflected in the composition of the bodies and committees responsible for the award.
Since 2018, the Carl Zeiss Foundation has been sponsoring the German Future Prize and supporting it with 50,000 euros per year.
